Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry seeks applicants for the position of Chairperson, Department of Dental Public Health, with either a PhD level education in epidemiology, public health, or behavioral sciences and/or or a DDS/DMD in addition to an Master’s degree in one of these subjects. Candidates with an appropriate education for board certification should be certified, with an outstanding clinician, educator, scientist, and communicator track record.
Responsibilities include didactic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, management and oversight of the departmental curriculum, engagement in independent research, provision of faculty mentoring and staff management, evaluation of outcomes assessment, and assisting in recruitment of qualified faculty.
The position of Chair of Dental Public Health requires a dynamic, passionate, and capable academic leader with a proven track record across the spectrum of educational excellence, administrative experience, program development, individual scholarship, trainee recruitment, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of accreditation and public health competencies, and experience in incorporating dental public health throughout the dental education curriculum, both didactic and clinical.
Requirements
- Candidates with a DDS/DMD should hold or be eligible for a license to practice in the State of Tennessee.
