Job Description

1. Lead Buy-Side Investment Research Across Healthcare
   Drive fundamental long/short idea generation across biotech, pharma, medical devices, HC services, and HCIT with explicit responsibility for investment theses, risk-reward frameworks, and portfolio impact.
2. Full Ownership of Financial Models for 20+ Portfolio Companies
   Maintain and enhance detailed buy-side models (3-statement, DCF, SOTP, pipeline rNPV) and perform rapid earnings updates immediately after quarterly results.
3. Healthcare-Specific Clinical & Regulatory Analysis
   Translate clinical trial data, FDA/EMA/NMPA decisions, reimbursement updates, and policy changes into explicit revenue, margin, and valuation implications for the fund's positions.
4. Primary Research & Expert Diligence
   Lead structured KOL calls, management meetings, and channel checks (physician surveys, hospital utilization, pricing trackers), extracting insights that directly shape position sizing.
5. IPO and Cross-Border Deep Diligence (US & China)
   Conduct pre-IPO reviews, initiate cross-border comps, analyze regulatory risk, and evaluate governance and disclosure differences for US- and China-listed healthcare companies.
6. Publish Investment Memos for PMs & IC Meetings
   Produce investment memos, red/green flag assessments, factor backtests, and thesis revisions that guide portfolio manager conviction and timing.
7. Portfolio Collaboration & Position Monitoring
   Work closely with portfolio managers on idea vetting, managing downside scenarios, stress tests, valuation sensitivity runs, and assessing competitive pressure on core holdings.

The Successful Applicant

1. Solid Years of Equity Research Experience (Buy-Side + Sell-Side Mix)
   Proven track record of producing alpha-generating insights in healthcare sectors, ideally within long/short, long-only, or growth equity funds.
2. Healthcare Academic Background (Mandatory)
   Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Public Health, or Health Economics.
   Advanced degrees (MS, PhD, MD, MBA) are strong differentiators.
3. Expert-Level Financial & Valuation Skills
   Mastery of clinical rNPV, DCF, SOTP, peak sales modeling, competitive landscape mapping, and scenario/sensitivity modelling.
4. Buy-Side Writing, Communication & Risk Awareness
   Ability to craft clear, concise investment memos, articulate risk-reward setups, and defend theses in PM/IC discussions.
5. Market Fluency: US + China Healthcare Ecosystems
   Deep understanding of FDA/EMA/NMPA processes, market access, reimbursement dynamics, procurement/tender systems (VBP/NRDL), and capital market structures across regions.
