Description
Prof. Kimberly Parker at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research position. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for applying LC-MS and GC-MS workflows to analyze organic contaminants like disinfection by-products, solvents, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals that have been accumulated on point-of-use water filter during use. A primary focus will be on analyzing filters returned to the laboratory after use by real project participants under a soon-to-begin pilot study.
As part of the larger project team, they would interact regularly with team members from diverse disciplinary backgrounds in environmental engineering, analytical chemistry, public health, and entrepreneurship, both within and outside of academia, providing ample opportunities for career learning, development, and networking. Requirements
PhD in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related field
Analytical chemistry, particularly GCMS/LCMS, or willingness to learn
Organization & record keeping
Teamwork & collaboration, including mentoring junior researchers and interdisciplinary science
